Ola Hudson Dies
Ola Hudson--fashion designer, mother of guitarist Slash, and the subject of this stunning 1970 print ad for Dewar's White Label--died of lung cancer on June 5. She was 62.
My Family had know Ola for more than 40 years. When Saul "Slash" was about 7 yrs. old he used to sweep my husband's haircutting shop on Melrose, "Jefferey Spirit Haircutting". Ola was not only talented but a heart of gold came with her. I last saw her at our own family's Reunion 2001. We always stayed in touch and I will miss her as I would my own sister...I wish you hd stayed a little longer. Simohn (Bonnie) Spearitt
Ola was such an inspiration for me..as well as her mother. She made it possible for me to live my dreams by recognizing my talent years ago, when Saul (Slash) and Axle were playing music in their basement! I will certainly miss her and her gracious spirit. Ladi Vee

Thanks for sharing this, Lee. That campaign was beautiful and particularly so because of Ms. Hudson. I'm sure she'll be missed.
Indeed. You;re welcome, Pamala.
